Installation steps of the bearing
The installation of the bearing should be selected according to the type, size and mating requirements of the bearing. The following are some common bearing installation steps and precautions:
1. Preparations before installation
Ensure that the installation area is dry and dust-free, and far away from equipment that may produce metal chips and dust. Check the cleanliness and integrity of bearings and their mating parts, and select appropriate grease or lubricating oil as required.
2. Installation method
Vertical method/cold pressing method: It is suitable for the case of small fit clearance or slight interference fit. The sleeve is used to push the inner ring of the bearing, and the bearing is gently knocked or pressed in with a hammer or press to ensure uniform force and prevent bearing tilt or damage.
Hot fitting method: This method is suitable for larger bearings or when there is a significant interference fit. The bearing is placed in a heating device, such as an oil furnace or air heater, and evenly heated to a temperature between 80 and 120 degrees Celsius (the exact temperature should be determined based on the bearing material and fit requirements). After heating, the bearing is quickly installed onto the shaft and cooled to room temperature. A hydraulic press or specialized tool is used to ensure the bearing is securely in place.
Oil injection method: It is suitable for the case where the bearing is directly installed on the conical shaft diameter. Hydraulic oil is injected through the oil hole and oil groove to form an oil film to reduce friction. This method requires the shaft to be designed with the corresponding oil hole and oil groove.
3. Installation of special bearings
Conical bearing: usually installed with an interference fit. Use a bearing installation tool, locking nut or hydraulic nut to push the inner ring into the appropriate position on the conical shaft diameter.
Cylindrical roller bearing: before installation, the bearing code should be checked and the clearance should be adjusted according to the need. When installing, avoid directly hammering the end face of the inner and outer rings and rollers.
4. Inspection after installation
Check whether the bearing is installed in place, no skew or loosening phenomenon, check the lubrication condition, ensure that the bearing is fully lubricated, carry out necessary trial operation, check whether the bearing runs smoothly and no abnormal sound.
